Golden Coco Sri Lanka’s journey began in 2017 when E. W. Shyama Priyadarshani founded Ruwan Cocoa Factory with a vision to transform the potential of Sri Lanka’s coconut industry. A year later, in 2018, E. W. Ruwan Nroshan, a trusted friend, joined the venture as a trader, bringing his expertise to the table and officially registering the business. Together, they laid the foundation for what would become a thriving enterprise.
In a bold step forward, the company evolved into Golden Coco Exports (Pvt) Ltd, officially established on May 7, 2024. This marked a new chapter focused on direct export activities, harnessing Sri Lanka’s abundant natural resources to serve global markets. What started as a modest operation has grown into a dynamic business, committed to sustainability and innovation.
Our story is rooted in the clever use of what others overlooked—waste coconut shells. Initially, we collected these shells from local communities, transforming them into valuable products like coconut shell crafts and coconut milk for both domestic and international buyers through subcontracting. By 2023, the rise of direct online buyers opened new doors, allowing us to expand into the agricultural sector. Today, we proudly produce and export a range of eco-friendly planting media, including Grow Bags, Seed Trays, and Coir Chips, alongside our signature coconut-based products.
At Golden Coco, we’re more than just a business—we’re a bridge between Sri Lanka’s rich heritage and the world. Our efforts not only generate valuable foreign exchange for the country but also empower local communities by turning waste into wealth. With direct exports now at the heart of our operations, we are committed to delivering sustainable, high-quality solutions to customers across the globe.
Join us as we grow, innovate, and bring the golden essence of Sri Lanka to the world!
